About the event

The MK Q:mmunity Tales project uncovered decades of LGBTQ+ community action and social life in Wolverton. This guided walk through the town streets, lead by one of the Heritage Project Workers, will stop at all the key locations, including: the Bakehouse that was home to MK Campaign for Homosexual Equality (CHE) and Lesbian and Gay Switchboard; Madcap Theatre that hosted HIV/AIDS awareness events; Oakleaf radical bookshop and a community resource centre; plus many pubs, clubs and venues that were welcoming hosts to queer nightlife and events.

You will hear the stories and memories that have impacted many lives over the years.

The walk will start at the front of Wolverton Library/Town Council offices at 11.00. It will follow around the streets of Wolverton, finishing at approximately 12.30. Those who wish to, will then walk back to MK Museum together.
