About the event
Join us for a creative community event exploring LGBTQ+ heritage, identity and self-expression through collective poetry, led by ally and friend Yaw Asiyama.
As LGBTQ+ History Month draws to a close, Q is partnering with MK LitFest to create a welcoming space to engage in poetry listening, writing and reflecting on our stories, identities and experiences.
This interactive workshop will use everyday objects as prompts to help participants discover words, phrases and lines of poetry that reflect their relationship with the world around them, whether connected to identity or simply personal experience. There are no rules and no expectations; this is about finding your words.
The session is open to people who have never written poetry before as well as those who have experimented creatively and would like to share space with others.
