Substance Use Questionnaire

Valley of The DollsThis survey could help guide future services nationally, as well in MK & Bucks, so please fill it in and let as many people know about it as possible:

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) in Manchester and the University of Central Lancashire are conducting a study about drug and alcohol use and this questionnaire asks about your use of these. The major aim of the study is to use the findings to inform the development of services (including the provision of information) for lesbian, gay and bisexual people who use drugs and alcohol. The findings will be published in the form of a report, in academic journal papers, on the internet, in LGF’s publications and disseminated at conferences.

To take the survey, please visit www.partofthepicture.co.uk, it should take no longer than 15 minutes.

‘What’s It Got To Do With You?’

What's It Got To Do With You? Stonewall have just launched a new leaflet explaining the importance of filling in equality monitering forms.

Stonewall today publishes a 10 point plain English guide to help employers and service providers explain to their staff and service users why monitoring information is being collected. ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ explains why a range of data – such as age, gender, sexual orientation and belief – may now be requested, and what the benefit is. With many organisations anticipating new measures in the Equality Bill ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ makes the case for monitoring across all equality characteristics.

For more information, and to download the guide, visit the Stonewall site.

Places to Socialise in MK and Aylesbury

Want a cosy new venue to relax, meet or celebrate in MK?

A place where you can eat, drink and just be…

There’s a new group on Facebook where you can share your views on a NEW venue for Milton Keynes. To join the group, click here (you may need to be a Facebook member to view and partake in the group).

In addition, the conversations about starting up new social opportunites for LGBT people in Milton Keynes are still going on at Gay MK.

Now what about Aylesbury? Do you live in, or near, Aylesbury? Are you happy with the social scene? Looking for more to do? Looking to start something up? There’s a Facebook group which is a bit quiet, but could be a good place to start a discussion.

Let us know at info {at} qalliance.org(.)uk if you know of other places on the web or around town where LGBT people in the Aylesbury Vale area meet up, we’d love to help promote them.

A list of LGBT groups that meet in Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire can be found at www.qalliance.org.uk/information/ – do let us know if we are mising any!
