Celebrated LGBT History Month Enough? Well…

bletchleypark…Get your 20% discount voucher for Bletchley Park in celebration of LGBT History Month.  It is important that we promote the amazing work carried out by Alan Turing during his time there.

In 2012, Bletchley Park will be celebrating the Alan Turing Centenary year in which mathematicians and scientists from around the globe will come to recognise his great achievements.

It is vitally important that the world never forgets that Alan Turing cracked the 158 Million Million to one German Enigma codes. It was said by Winston Churchill that Turing’s work was the greatest single contribution to victory in the Second World War. After the war the British Government turned their back on him, he was arrested and later chemically castrated because of his homosexuality.  In 1952 he committed suicide.  In 2009, Gordon Brown made a formal apology on behalf of the Government, he noted that Turing was one of Britain’s most famous victims of homophobia.
